September 15

  • The list for academic scholars has been posted on Mr. Beverly’s office window. If you do not see your name, and feel that it should be on the list, please let Mrs. Harmelin know.
    The criteria for academic scholar is, as a JR or SR, maintaining a 90+ NGA and lettering in a sport.
  • Art Club will have their next meeting on Thursday in Room 510 from 3:40 to 5. Membership is open through this Friday – Dues are 5$
    Come join the fun!
  • Attention Swimmers! We will have an important meeting this Thursday, September 16th at 6PM here in room 502. Details for this year’s season will be discussed. We will also have samples of uniforms for you to try on. Parents are encouraged to attend. If you can’t attend see Mr. Rasmussen in room 2203.
  • Congratulations to the Competition Cheerleading team for a great showing at their first competition. Last Saturday they beat Sequoyah by nearly 30 points and received one of the highest scores on record for this group of girls. This weekend they will compete at Cartersville HS. Gym opens at 2:00pm. Admission is $7 and Creekview competes at 2:45. Come out and support the competition cheerleaders!
  • Georgia Tech is offering an opportunity for female students to explore engineering majors and careers through the Engineering Career Conference, scheduled for October 7 and 8. This is a two day event designed specifically for high school girls, to introduce them to each of the 11 engineering majors offered at Georgia Tech. During this conference, Tech’s world class faculty members, and panels of female students will talk about their respective engineering majors, and the unique career paths they offer. The program includes a lunch panel of professional female engineers on Thursday, and a special presentation by the Office of Admissions on Friday. Female students who have the following characteristics are encouraged to apply: Strength in math and science; Creativity; Curiosity; and Desire and ability to work in teams. The application deadline is Wednesday, September 22. For an application, please see Mr. Zaffino in the Student Services Office.
  • Georgia Perimeter College will be visiting September 16th during all lunches in the cafeteria. Please visit the representative’s table that will be set up in the cafeteria on Sept. 16th.
  • Kennesaw State University will be visiting on Friday, Sept 17 at 8:30AM in Student Services. Authorization is required to attend this session. Please visit Student Services to sign up and obtain a pass to attend KSU’s visit on Sept. 17th.
  • Mercer University will be visiting at 10:30 AM on Sept. 16th in Student Services Conf. Room. A pass is required to attend this session. Please visit Student Services to sign up and obtain a pass to attend Mercer University ‘s visit on Sept. 10th.
  • Attention students: Come on down to the Bear Necessities! The pink football jerseys, green appliqué tees, and black rhinestone shirts are in. Come on down to the school store in room 1307 and get setup for game day. Don’t forget we have pom poms, megaphones, and tattoos. We will be selling cookies on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays! And Breeze Freeze is on sale everyday! Be sure to check out the flavors, this week starts Tropical Blend!
